Georgia Akins
CFO, CPA
Georgia is co-founder and chief financial officer of Akins Henke and Company. Georgia brings with her over twenty-four years of extensive experience working with and providing guidance to individuals, closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Georgia is also responsible for the Firm’s private foundation clientele. Georgia is responsible for meeting with you to help define your needs, providing you with consultation and advice, performing the services you need, and ensuring your services are provided in a timely and professional manner.
Georgia is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelors of Science degree in accounting. Georgia is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Georgia and her husband, Jason, live in Hugo and have two children. When not working, Georgia enjoys camping, taking walks and spending time with her family.
Chris Henke
Chief Manager, CPA
Chris is co-founder and chief manager of Akins Henke and Company. As a Certified Public Accountant, Chris brings with him over twenty years of extensive experience working with and providing guidance to individuals, closely held businesses, and not-for-profit organizations. Chris is also the director of the firm’s employee benefit plan services and is a Registered Investment Advisor. Chris is responsible for meeting with you to help define your needs, providing you with consultation and advice, performing the services you need, and ensuring your services are provided in a timely and professional manner.
Chris is a member of the American Institute for Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the AICPA not-for profit section. Chris graduated from Mankato State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in accounting.
Chris has lived in Minnesota his entire life, grew up in Hutchinson, and recently moved to Mounds View. In his spare time, you can find Chris enjoying time with his wife Rachel and son Griffin, being in the outdoors fishing, hunting and hiking, playing organized sports, attending Twins games, and reading.

Lori Turgeon
Administration
Most likely if you call our office you will initially speak with Lori. Lori provides the Firm’s administrative support. Should you need to make an appointment, have a general question about your services, or need copies of your paperwork, give Lori a call and she will take care of you.
Lori is a die-hard Minnesota Golden Gophers fan. She lives in Mahtomedi with her husband Curt and her dog Stella. Lori’s hobbies include knitting, reading, traveling, and spending time with her two grown daughters.

Karen Kukkonen
Accountant
Karen joined the firm in 2017 after taking some time off to raise her family. Karen brings with her over fourteen years of accounting experience. Karen has strong experience in not-for-profit audits and tax preparation services.
Karen is a graduate of Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in accounting. Karen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Karen and her husband, Erik, live in Maple Grove and have three boys. In her spare time, Karen enjoys playing hockey, reading and spending time with her family.
